PLAY THEATER'S WINTER 2026 PRODUCTION - JANUARY 23 & 24!
Based on the hit film and the incredible true story, Catch Me If You Can is the high-flying musical comedy about chasing your dreams and not getting caught. Nominated for four Tony awards, including Best Musical, this delightfully entertaining show was created with a book by Terrence McNally (The Full Monty, Ragtime) and a swinging score by Scott Wittman (Hairspray) and Scotch Plains's own Marc Shaiman.

Seeking fame and fortune, a precocious teenager runs away from home to begin an unforgettable adventure. With nothing more than charm, a big imagination, and millions of dollars that did not belong to him, he successfully poses as a pilot, a doctor, and a lawyer – living the high life and winning the girl of his dreams.

Play Theater's Winter Musical accommodates ~50 kids, 2nd grade and older, and enrollment is first-come, first-served. Roles are cast from that pool of 50, but everyone registered performs in the show. The cost is $395 per participant.

Auditions for specific roles will take place on November 10th. Performances are scheduled for January 24 & 25. The full schedule is available here. Shows are specifically chosen with featured roles for many kids.

Rehearsals and performances take place at duCret School of Art, a beautiful mansion and NJ's oldest art school, located at 1030 Central Avenue in the historic, residential Van Wyck section of Plainfield.
