Damn Yankees is based on the novel, “The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant” by Douglass Wallop. This Broadway mega-hit and winner of seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, has a memorable score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and a devilish book by George Abbott. This sporty musical comedy and true American classic will be presented with a modern twist.  ​

 

       Play Theater’s hard-working and talented cast is made up of 52 2nd- through 8th-grade students, mostly from Scotch Plains-Fanwood, who auditioned and began rehearsals in early November.
